Where it all began

With a backpack, a dose of curiosity and the idea of staying for six months, I boarded the plane to Australia. I soon realized I wanted to stay longer. I worked in vibrant cities and in the scorching outback where temperatures reached 50°C. In the end, this first trip lasted eleven months, until the Covid-19 pandemic forced me back to the Netherlands.

Kangaroos, deserts and coastlines

When Australia finally reopened its borders, I boarded the plane once again. Over the course of two years, I crisscrossed the entire country: from the tropical north to vast deserts and from the east coast to the rugged west. I worked in the outback again, rented out campervans from Byron Bay, and even drove trucks in Perth. Local Aussies often joked that I'd seen more of their country than they had in their entire lives.

New Zealand from North to South

From Auckland I drove south and ended up in enchanting Queenstown. Here I work as a tour guide and take visitors daily to iconic places like Milford Sound and Mount Cook. By now I've traveled across the entire country: from the rugged west coast to the sunny east coast.
